# Get media status

> Read media preparation status and its metadata when ready.

Read access: a read-enabled personal or team REST API key, or a signed-in user. OAuth clients use the corresponding MCP tool through /mcp.

Read media preparation status and its metadata when ready.

A processing result contains the state only. A ready result includes metadata. Failed video preparation returns an error instead of making media publishable.

MCP clients can use [`get_media_status`](/mcp-reference/get_media_status) for this operation.
